The Importance of Choreography

CHOREOGRAPHY

A topic for my presentation is going to dive into the importance of Choreography and how it can effect the structure of a scene in a film or an animation. Everything about a scene is how it's staged and fixed in which the shot is created in the film.

There are several factors as Choreography is not limited to only musical genres, as seen in many musicals and films; action genres build up shots of adrenaline and pacing in a film. Many films always have some ounce of action sequences where it's cinematic and action-packed. But Choreography isn't just really making the scene look good, it's how it paces itself including allowing it's actors to create a dynamic sequence that stands out in parts of a film.

Ex. Iron Man VS Captain America in Civil War.

Whether dancing and fighting, it all revolves around the flow and movement of the scene itself. Without hindering a scene with less visual appeal and awkward movement, with many shifts in the camera work and angle, including actors creating that sense of flow, allows scenes to be much more impactful.

1.  It is acting related? I firmly believe that Choreography plays a major role into how a film and animation is made in terms of staging and laying out the overall scenes that make up the film's runtime.

2.  How can you and your classmates learn something relevant? They can learn to understand how in many films, sequences are set up closely to fit well into the film's pacing. When action scenes occur, it's all a matter of the adrenaline and momentum the scene can make. It can gravitate the audience towards the film's ambience, making them feel like they're in the film or animation itself. Like how movie theaters are always dark and the only brightest part of the room is always the big screen.

3.  What original content will you provide? I'm still in the process of making examples of how they incorporate into a film. Whichever is chosen, I'm clearly going to take good examples from films that takes advantages of those strengths.

4.  Think of at least three topics related to Animation (Acting, character, camera, story)

Choreography relies heavily on character and the action taking place in them. It also uses camera work and acting too.

5. My entire project will be PowerPoint, going from slide to side.

6. As for live stream or recording, whichever way is easier. I may lean into the recording process.

VISUAL APPEAL

Visual Appeal is one of the many aspects I like to talk about that has something to do with how a movie's tone and setting is made. Many genres always have a different tone into how it's being portrayed. When you look at horror, it's dark and grim; in noir films, it's black and white and full of mystery and a sense of drama; in romance and/or comedy, the film is bright and cheerful.

A film's mood and tone is often strengthened by how the directors and producers make it. It's not just creating a movie and putting in a visual atmosphere and state it's genre, it takes a lot of coordinate in how the director themselves want to set the film's tone in.

When you're adapting books and stories, there's always the necessity into keeping the source material's tone in the same wavelength as the film's adaptation would be.

Sometimes in different interpretations, films can create a larger atmosphere beyond the genre's tone itself. Psychological horror is attributed to how in films, they're often trippy and distorted in ways that it feels like a psychedelic dream.

I want to show how some films have succeed in constructing the ambience and atmosphere of a film that makes it stand out. Especially with one films these days continue to push technology to the maximum in Hollywood.

1.  It is acting related? Visual Appeal is widely used for films that want to use CGI to expand the setting of a film. Whether it be sci-fi, fantasy, maybe even grounded in reality; the matter is that it's how the director projects the atmosphere of the film's setting.

2.  How can you and your classmates learn something relevant? They can learn how visual appeal can strengthen the overall view of the film's tone. Whether it's horror or noir, a film can shrine through how visually the director can do to make it stand out.

3.  What original content will you provide? I'd like to give some

4.  Think of at least three topics related to Animation (Acting, character, camera, story)

5. This topic will be in a PowerPoint presentation.

6. I'm going to record this presentation.
